Tucked away from the main road beside the local church, The White Lion is a local pub that’s full of character. Split into four separate rooms, each with their own warm, inviting layout, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a drink at the end of a long day. Whether you relax on the modern outdoor terrace or sink into the comfort of “the parlour” beside the crackling fire, the White Lion is a welcoming, friendly space, full of unique character and great drinks.

For a local pub, the White Lion in Upholland is deceptively large. The main space of the pub is heated by a stunning log burner, which warms up the generous, open space. This area is perfect for larger groups, or meeting new friends in a spacious, comfortable environment.

Towards the back of the pub, there are two small rooms, which are ideal for private functions. There’s also a small space which is perfect for local couples on date night, or small groups of four looking to enjoy quiet, calm conversation while sipping their favourite drinks.

For those lazy, sunny afternoons and evenings, the outdoor terrace is a real sun trap, ideal for enjoying a cool drink on a hot summer’s day.

According to local legend, the infamous Up Holland Highwayman, George Lyon, was finally tracked down and arrested here while enjoying a refreshing pint.
